This is a story of two British Hollys. Holly Jones is living the ideal expat life in Miami when Holly Wild arrives in town and infiltrates Holly Jones’ life. We soon come to realise that these two have history. They were at school together, where Holly Jones made The Other Holly’s life a nightmare.
The first half of the book is narrated from Holly Jones’ perspective. Due to a lot of detail, sometimes the pacing felt a little slow, but the characterisation is excellent. But wow, does the book speed up in the second half, narrated from Holly Wild’s point of view. The shocks start coming and by the time you get to the final part of the book, it’s a whirlwind.
Everything comes together but not in the way I expected. It took me a while to read Tiny Daggers, but I’m really glad I stuck with it. It’s domestic noir at its best with characters you’ll love to hate.
