I listened to this as an audiobook, and it was compelling. It tells the story of the perfect man. A man who spins a web around numerous women; a narcissist and serial manipulator. The book is narrated from different perspectives, including the man himself who goes by multiple different names. The story is not new and for me, the twist rather predictable, but Jewell has a way of writing that makes it impossible to stop reading – or listening. The characters are all so well developed, and I was literally on the edge, waiting for catastrophe after catastrophe to unfold, eager to know how the women would wreak their ultimate revenge. It’s not my favourite of Jewell’s books but she is a true writerly master and this will give you many hours of great reading.
